Will & Grace

I'm not sure if any of you watched this show but I loved it. I am so sad that it has been off the air for years but I do own all the seasons. I can quote many-a-quotes.

Karen and Jack were my favorite on this show. There are some episodes that I laugh so hard that I literally have tears coming down my face!

Just another Manic Monday err weekend, in the jail

Ok so not really. More like a manic weekend. Work weekend that is...

Let's start out with Friday night in the jail.
Attempted suicide in the jail.
Around 7o'clock at night there was a call on the radio for all available officers to get to 2nd floor for an inmate who was trying to hang himself. I never ran so fast in my life. Of course the elevators couldn't have gone ANY slower.
This inmate had taken off his uniform and tied it around his neck to the bars and was trying to drop to his knees. However one of the girls I work with was using all her strength to hold him up and tell him no stop. Luckily she was able to hold him up until another officer was able to arrive and help her.
By the time I got there they had him down. I helped walk him in to the mental health area.
Shortly after that I noticed that he was taking the special made suicide blanket and trying to find something to hang it on. We then had to go in to his cell and take that away from him.

Saturday night.

Working as Intake officer. Night started out pretty well. Until, I had to take away a female inmates mail. Inmate are only allowed to have 6 inches of mail in their property tote. This female probably had 20 inches of mail. I asked her to hand me some of her mail out so I could put it in her property bag she FREAKED out. She started talking to herself and crying. I eventually got her calmed down after 15 minutes of telling her I was trying to take over her space but just follow the rules and take a little bit away and store it in her property bag. I kept telling her she would get it when she would leave. (Now this wasn't even 'mail' it was just a ton of paper that she had written things on. While scanning it, it appeared she was having conversations with herself on the paper.

Sunday night.
Shakedown. We did shakedowns in 4 different pods aka housing units. Let's just say I sweating by the time we were done going through everything! An male inmate happened to have to many socks in his possession. I tried explaining this to him but he just kept trying to talk over me and clapping as he was talking. It was going nowhere. Eventually I just had to tell him, look, point is, you can only have 3 you have 4, I'm taking one and putting it in your property. The great thing about this night was that the Sergeant bought DQ Blizzards for everyone afterwards. YUM!!

How was your weekend?

My sister Rachel.

She is the second oldest. She is married and has 2 daughters named Harper and Madelyn.
She is an Occupational Therapist.

My brother Adam.

Adam is my older brother. He is married and had a son named Henry. He is a special education teacher for elementary.

Next is me.

Well you pretty much know about me. Married to Brent with 2 fur babies.

My baby brother Tony.

My baby brother Tony is in the army. He is currently stationed in San Diego but will be leaving in November to go to a different base is Southern Arizona. So proud of him!

Weekend Recap

Hey ladies, it's Monday. I'm sure most of you hate mondays, but I have today and tomorrow off and that makes this girl one happy camper!

So this weekend I got to watch the movie Machine Gun Preacher.
At first I thought oh great another macho man movie. Oh how I was wrong. What a good movie. I didn't know that it was based on a true story. Gerald Butler is in the movie and I think he did a great job portraying the actual person.
If you get a chance check the out the movie. It may suprise you!

I also watched the show Hell on Wheels. It was ok. Not a show I would again.

I got in the mail today this pretty little thing

The German mini opi collection. I can't wait to paint my toenails with that blue or purple. They have a ton of other colors in the collection too. My goal, to have all the Germany collection!

My husband and I are off to see a movie this evening. However we are not sure which one we want to watch.

The Campaign

Some Q&A's about yours truly

Before I start this post I just wanted to mention that you should sign up for this swap below hosted by
Rachel. I did, can't wait!

lala Lists

I asked one of my favorite bloggers Jen if I could use her questions today for blogging and she said yes...so without further ado...

Where is your favorite place to go on vacation?

If it's just a 'mini trip' that doesn't require air fair I would have to say Minnesota and Milwaukee. I have come to really love Minnesota (just not a vikings or twins fan ;) They seem to have lots to do there. I also love Milwaukee. Although I hate driving in this town I love going to brewers games and seeing other things.

Pepsi or Coke?

Pepsi. Before I met my husband I was a big Mountain Dew/ Coke Zero kind of gal. Once I met my husband and I was always at his duplex all he had to drink was Pepsi. Now I am hooked and that's the main go to soda for me. (Bad I know)

What is your most embarrassing moment?

A couple years back in college I was coming out of one of the buildings. I was crossing the street to get to the parking lot. It had rained right before so the black top was wet. I was wearing flip flops and slipped in fell in front of people. I never wanted to disappear so fast! (for some reason flip flops, rain, and black top don't mix!)

What is the one thing you do every day for yourself that makes you happy?

Blog and read. Blogging is a great way for me to unwind. I love love having a glass of wine, sitting in bed with my fur babies and reading blogs. Also reading. I have so many books on my book shelf that I haven't read yet. Every time I go to the store or Barnes N Noble I buy a book. One of life's greatest pleasures!

Reading! (books,reading)

What Disney princess are you most like?

Well since Belle is my favorite I will just say her. And she loves to read of course!

What is your favorite "guilty pleasure" TV show?

That would have to be Teen Mom. I am a Teen Mom junkie. Speaking of, it is not tonight. I can't stand Ambre. I think she is going down hill fast and after last weeks episode I don't think rehab helped her what so ever. Macy is my favorite. Benny is so cute!

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because my cousin mentioned it to me. I really started enjoying it once I started getting to know people.

What is one thing you can't live without?

My phone and my Ipod. It's one of the first things I do when I get it my car is turn my Ipod on. (I drive 45mins one way to work so it is a necessity)

What's your favorite shopping website?

That would have to be etsy and amazon. I love etsy because I like finding unquie items to buy. I love amazon because I can usually find things for lower cost!

Favorite Beauty Product:

That would have to be eyeliner and nail polish.

Who is your favorite blogger and why:

Well I enjoy reading everyone's blog. It's fun finding new ones everyday. Some of my favorites are:
Dexter Morgans Mama, Ashlee, Courtney, and of course, Miranda.

Book Club Friday

This week I'm sharing:

Description:

Bestselling author Jennifer Weiner’s dazzling new novel Best Friends Forever explores the impact of love, desire, and familial loss on a friendship between two young women, and how the choices they make will change their lives forever.
One of the nation’s most beloved and successful writers of women’s fiction, Jennifer Weiner has become a literary phenomenon with millions of copies of her books in print. Her latest work, Best Friends Forever will delight fans and critics alike, following the ups and downs of a long-time friendship between two young girls who grow up to be two very different women. Addie Downs and Valerie Adler were eight when they first met and decided to be best friends forever. But, in the wake of tragedy and betrayal during their teenage years, everything changed. Val went on to fame and fortune. Addie stayed behind in their small Midwestern town. Destiny, however, had more in store for these two. And when, twenty-five years later, Val shows up at Addie’s front door with blood on her coat and terror on her face, it is the beginning of a wild adventure for two women joined by love and history who find strength together that they could not find alone.

Here are my thoughts:

I thought this book was good. I would give it a B. There were a few things I didn't like. I felt it was just thrown together with Addie and the Detective. Overall I've really enjoyed her books!
