Movie Review

Movie Review Time
Here are some movies that I have seen recently

The Heat

Sarah Ashburn, an FBI agent, is extremely ambitious and has her eye on a promotion, but she doesn't get along with her co-workers. She is sent to Boston to uncover the identity of an elusive drug lord, Mr. Lassen, by tracking down his proxy, Rojas, and is told that she'll have a good shot at the promotion if she finds Lassen. When she arrives in Boston, she learns that Lassen has been eliminating his competition and taking over their operations. She learns that Rojas is in Boston PD custody and goes to see him to ask him what he knows about Lassen, but is warned that the cop who arrested Rojas, Shannon Mullins, is very territorial, and she is not exactly sociable. When the two meet they don't get along. When Mullins learns why Ashburn is in Boston, she decides to find Lassen herself. Ahsburn is told by her boss to work with Mullins, but it won't be easy because Ashburn does things by the book while Mullins does things her way.

Grade: A
Loved this movie. Love the actress. Worth the money. A must see.
Melissa McCarthy makes this movie. FYI, she uses the 'F bomb' a ton in
this movie. Maybe a little to much.

The Conjuring
The Conjuring (2013) Poster

Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren work to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in their farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.
Grade: C
This movie effing freaked me out. My husband really wanted to see it and I just wanted to be a good wife and spend time with him so I said yes.
I think what freaked me out the most was that it was based on true events.
So of course before the film started I just HAD to google about it.
Bad choice. I watched interviews with the real family and it made the movie that much more intense for me. If you like scary movies, go for it!

The Call
The Call (2013) Poster

Jordan Turner (Halle Berry) is an experienced 911 operator but when she makes an error in judgment and a call ends badly, Jordan is rattled and unsure if she can continue. But then teenager Casey Welson (Abigail Breslin) is abducted in the back of a man's car and calls 911. And Jordan is the one called upon to use all of her experience, insights and quick thinking to help Casey escape, and not just to save Casey, but to make sure the man is brought to justice.
Grade: B
I really enjoyed this movie. It was the right amount of suspense. Maybe I am biased to the movie because I work in the law enforcement field but I really liked it.
I was waiting till the very end of course to find out what happens.
The only thing I didn't like? Halle Berry's hair in this movie! It looked like a mop!

Identity Thief

Identity Thief
Unlimited funds have allowed Diana to live it up on the outskirts of Orlando. There's only one glitch: she's financing her shopping sprees with an ID stolen from Sandy Patterson, an accounts rep who lives halfway across the U.S. With only one week to hunt down the con artist before his world implodes, the real Sandy Patterson is forced to extreme measures to clear his name. He hits the road to confront the woman with an all-access pass to his life and coerce her into making the 2,000 mile road trip back to Colorado to set things right.
Grade: B/C
I feel like there was something missing from this movie.
However, I am a huge Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy fan.
There were some pretty hilarious scenes in this movie!
Ohhh, Baracuda!

Oz, the Great & Powerful
Oz the Great and Powerful
When Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks that fame and fortune are his for the taking, that is until he meets three witches, Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone has been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the enormous problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity, and even a bit of wizardry, Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.
Grade: C
I am not the biggest James Franco fan, therefor I felt he wasn't the best choice
for Oz. I would have died for someone else to play him. However Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz were great. The costumes for this movie were amazing, and so were all the colors. The little girl doll kind of creeped me out too.

So, what movies have you seen lately? Have you seen any of these? What did you think of them?
