What's Your Love Story?

Stumbled across this great blog and wanted to partake in Mrs. to Mama What's your love story!

Taken Ladies

1. How long have you and your significant other been together? We've been together for over 3 years but have been married for 1 year and 8 months

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
My husband and I met on match.com...I winked at him and he winked back. We started e-mailing each other back and forth for a week. I would get up early to see if he e-mailed me. Then we decided to exchange numbers. After talking on the phone for about a week we decided to 'meet in person' I met him and we went out for dinner. I ordered this really gross sandwhich and picked at my food. He thought I hated the place he picked out, I didn't, I just didn't like what I ordered! We then went bowling where we bowled 2 games each. After that we went to a move (Role Models). Then we went back to his place so I could see his puppy Nitro. Then he gave me a hug goodbye. Once I got my car I was giddy. I though we really hit this off. Brent asked me to text him when I got back to make sure I got home ok. (I knew he was a good guy then) I texted him when I got back to my apartment and asked him if he wanted to watch the Packer game tomorrow together. He said yeah that would be great! We liked each other even more because we bothed loved the Packers. We were inseperable ever since. :)

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
My husband and I have been married for a year and 8 months. We got married June 26th 2010

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?  If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
My husband had a small/medium wedding. A little over 160 guests. We got married in the home town where I grew up. I always wanted to get married in the church that I grew up with and Brent said he didn't care where we got married as long as we got married!

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
Lol. I call Brent, "Brenty" all the time...it's just a nickname that has stuck since the beginning of our relationship and he just usually says 'hun'

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
I love how protective of me he is. Wether it's a coworker or a fight with my sisters he always has my back and asks if I want him to say anything to them. Another thing I love most about him is his love for sports. My father is a big sports guy so I grew up with baseball and football in my life... I don't think anyone knows as much about sports as my husband does! The last thing I love about my husband is his sense of humor. He can always make a joke out of a situation and tries not to be serious all the time. Sometimes you just need that in life!

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
My husband stopped by my apartment on a Friday before I had to go in to work. He had these box of M&M's that were multi colored and said he wanted to know if I could help seperate the colors for him. I thought weird but hey he's a teacher so maybe he's doing it for his class or something. I sat down at my kitchen table and opened the box of M&M's. When I looked at the M&M's some of them said 'Katie will you" "marry me" My jaw dropped on the floor. I looked over and Brent and he was down on one knee. He said that I was the most amazing women he had ever met and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, would I marry him. I actually just kept saying 'Oh my god' over and over again because I couldn't believe this was actually happening to me! I said yes and he put the ring on my finger which was gorgeous!

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
Teddy Bear and flowers kind of guy. In fact that's what I got last year, flowers and a teddy bear!

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Pop a movie in and relax on the couch girl all the way. One of my favorite things to do with my husband!

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
I would love to go to a foreign country with my husband. (We went to the Bahamas this past summer) but I would love to go to Japan or Ireland with him.

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
I actually have off Valentines' Day this year however I have to drive my dogs to my in laws house who live on the opposite side of the state so I won't get home till later in the evening. So I think we are just going to exchange small gifts and watch a movie. I wouldn't want it any other way!

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
I hope for flowers but I'm not the kind of girl who tells my husband he has to buy me a necklace or anything ;) (mean no offense to those who do!)

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Communicate. Communicate. Communicate. That's my best advice. Don't stop talking. Niether sex can read each other's mind. He doesn't know what's wrong with me or why I'm upset if I don't tell him and vice versa! We always say 'I love you' before we go to bed. That was the best piece of advice that my grandparents who were married for 53 years told me! 'Never go to bed with out saying I love you!

14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.

Our Wedding Day

When the Packers went to the Super Bowl last year!!
